Guitars PRS - Paul Reed Smith makes some of the finest electric guitars available today. Guitars Used - If you are in the market for a guitar, and would like to get the most for your money, then you should definately consider a used guitar. Used guitars are functionally just about the same thing as a new guitar, and in many circumstances, they are in just about the same condition as a new guitar. The main considerations that sould be taken into account when purchasing a guitar are the sound of the instrument, how comfortable it is for you to play, how it sits in your lap if you are playing it sitting down, or how it sits when you are standing up, playing it with a strap. If you can locate a guitar used that is comfortable for you to play, sits well with you, and is the type of guitar you are looking for, it is a very good way for you to save 50% and more. Typically, musical instruments are marked up 50%. So, if you are looking to purchase a new guitar that has a list price of $1,000, this guitar typically costs the music store $500. Guitars are also much like cars, when you purchase one and walk out the front door of the store, it’s typically worth much less than what you paid for it. Recently, I was looking for a Dean Dime ) Flame. New, this guitar costs just under 900.00, and with a case, would have put it well over $1,000. I happened to wander into Guitar Center and found a used one, that was in perfect condition, and I walked out of the store with it for $450.00 with a case. Guitars used are an excellent value. You just have to know what you are looking for, carefully look over the instrument and make sure that it is in functional order, check the pickups and look over the body to make sure that it’s in an acceptable condition for you, and guitars used can save you TONS of money. Electric Guitar Pack - If you are new or thinking about getting started playing guitar, or indeed are going to begin playing guitar, you might want to consider an electric guitar pack. Electric guitar packs generally contain what you need to get started playing, and the basics. You will see different guitar companies and musical instruments manufacturers include different components in their electric guitar packs. Generally, you should expect to receive everything you need to get started playing guitar - an electric guitar, an amp, a guitar strap, picks, guitar cable (if you get an electric guitar pack - acoustic guitar packs won’t require one unless of course they are electric-acoustic), a gig bag to put your guitar in, and some include simple electric guitar tuners and some also include an extra set of electric gutiar strings. Red electric guitar is a very popular color as well and available from a large number of manufacturers, just about all of them. The most popular guitar line that comes in red is the Gibson Flying V. The most popular colors for the Gibson Flying V are red, black, and white. Red electric guitar are also available from Fender, Gretsch, and many other manufacturers. Quite a few of them are not just standard bright red, but shades of red, or stains, etc. Schecter also produces some nice red electric guitar, and one of the guitars used by Zakky Vengance from Avenged Sevenfold is a stained red Schecter custom - red electric guitar.
New electric guitar, playing in a band, and being a musician are the dreams of young and old alike. New electric guitars are available in just about any shape, size, and variety you can imagine. There is an electric guitar, bass guitar, and many types. Just dealing with the new electric guitar, we have solid body, hollow body, semi-hollowed body, new fender electric guitar, new acoustic electric guitar, and then you can get into body styles and shapes. There are single and double cutaways, and then just about any possible paint job you could imagine. When I ordered my first USA Jackson Soloist, I placed the order at the music store I worked at the time, McCarty Music, which will always be the best music store in the word to me, and I waited about 8 to 9 months for it to come in. There was no feeling in the world than opening the box that it was shipped in and taking the case out of it, then opening the case, and seeing my new electirc guitar come rolling out of that case. it was an incredible feeling, and the action was out of control, the strings melted on the frets like butter as I played it, and nothing will ever compare again. That was the first new electric guitar I purchased. I’ve bought a few since then, but they haven’t compared.
Mini electric guitars are available in a wide variety of styles, for a wide variety of reasons, from a wide variety of manufacturers. Mini electric guitars, often also referred to three quarter sized guitars, are available for children as toys, people who can’t finger the fret boards, on regular sized guitars, and people who are just in the market for a mini electric guitar. Two Christmas’ ago, I purchased two mini electric guitars for my sons, Logan and Miles. I bought an Ephiphone Flying V mini electric guitar for Logan, and a Ephiphone Les Paul Jr. mini electric guitar for Miles. As they are in 4th and 2nd grades, their hands aren’t quite big enough for a full sized guitar, yet they wanted to have a guitar, like I did. I purchased these mini electric guitars in electric guitar packs, which also included a gig bag, mini amplifier, a few picks, and a strap.
Mini electric guitars are also useful if you need to take one traveling and don’t want to hassle trying to find the space in carry on for a full sized guitar, as well as for a novelty item. If this is something you are looking for, a mini electric guitar is something you should consider.
Black electric guitar - although not a brand, it’s one of the most popular types and colors of electric guitars sold. Frequently, black electric guitars are referred to as ebony as well. Quite a few of today’s most popular musicians from all genre’s play a black electric guitar. James Hetfield and Kirk Hammett of Metallica both play a black electric guitar, and have custom models featuring this color. A black electric guitar is one of the first things you will see if you walk into just about any music store, as well as just about any online music store. Some of the most popular brands that featuring a black electric guitar in their lineups include,Jackson, Gibson, Fender, Squire, ESP, Epiphone, Gretsch, Carvin, Alvarez, Ovation, Takamine, Taylor, Guild, G&L, Ibanez, MusicMan, Peavey, Rickenbacher, Washburn, Yamaha, and just about any electric guitar manufacturer (as well as acoustic for that matter).
Some of the most popular and recognizable brands of black electric guitar include the Gibson Black Beauty, which is a Les Paul Model, a black Fender Standard Strat (or Fender Stratocaster), and as especially made popular on early tours by the progressive rock band Rush, Geddy Lee’s wildly famous Rickenbacker 4001 Bass. While not an electric “guitar” per se (it was an electric bass) it was an electric bass guitar.
Additionally, quite a few people have a black electric guitar as their first electric guitar, and they are quite frequently included in electric guitar packs, all in one combinations, and the like. If you are looking for a guitars that are used, you can very easily pick up a black electric guitar. A black electric guitar is standard and the first guitar of many. You can’t go wrong with a black electric guitar. I have two sons, ages 7 and 8, 1st and 3rd grade. Two years ago at Christmas, I purchased each of theim their own electric guitar starter back, and one included a red Ephiphone Flying V three quarter sized guitar, and the other included an Ephiphone three quarter sized black electric guitar - an Ephiphone Less Paul Jr. They’ve definately gotten their mileage out of them, and are quite pleased with his black electric guitar.
Custom electric guitar - I’ve played guitar for almost 30 years now, and if you are like me, you’ve dreamed of owning your own custom electric gutar for quite some time. I’ve put together a collection of guitars that I’m quite fortunate and proud to own - more fortunate than most. I’ve got a Mark Morton Custom Jackson (which he signed the headstock in Kansas City for me), a USA Jackson Soloist model, a Dean Dimeoflame Razorback, a Jackson Randy Rhoads, a Peavey EVH Custom, and an Ibanez Artcore Semi-Holo body. I’ve also got a Peavey Millennium Bass, and an ESP bass. I’ll post some pictures of my babies in a future post, but right now half of them are in pawn because I lost my job and other unfortunate circumstances, which is driving me CRAZY daily…

I’ve thought about it before, bought books and actually thought about making my own custom instrumnets. There is nothing like having EXACTLY what you want, custom built for you. Even more important, usually, is the quality of the custom electric guitar. Custom Shop instruments
aren’t normally build on an assembly line and use much higher grade
woods and components. Some are even individually hand built. You have
to check with the particular manufacturer for their policies and how
it’s handled.
Especially now, considering my circumstances, I don’t have the time as well as I don’t have thousands or even tens of thousands of dollars to invest into expensive equipment that I would use once or twice to make a few guitars for myself or friends, or even a few to sell.
Custom electric guitar companies produce instruments based upon more popular assembly line models. For example, you can get a Custom Shop Gibson or a Custom Shop Jackson (my personal favorites) that are based upon their most popular mass produced models, such as the Les Paul and the Jackson Soloist.
Most companies now also relaease “Custom Shop”models, which are basically pre-made, or limited run productions built in their custom shop. When Jackson introduced their USA series in the mid 90’s, They were build in their USA shop, in limited production runs of 50 units each.
As well, Gibson has plenty of Custom Shop labeled models that are 50’s or 60’s reissues, replicating the original specs of the models as they were first released. These may be considered by some to truely be a custom electric guitar, but I consider myself a purest, and as far as I’m concerned, if you aren’t sending spec’s directly to the custom shop, or in direct contact with them in some way, shape, or form, or talking to someone, it isn’t a TRUE custom electric guitar.
If you are in the market for a Custom electric guitar, contact your local music dealer and tell them you want a true custom shop guitar, or even better yet, contact Jackson, Gibson, Fender, Dean, Washburn, etc directly on their website and let them know you want to order a custom shop guitar. Expect to pay for this. A custom shop Jackson can run anywhere to a few grand to whatever you want to pay. You can get excellent deals of pre-built custom shop guitars at guitar shows, etc, such as the annual Dallas Guitar Festival and Show in April of each year.
That being said, there are plenty of less expensive options if you are in the market for a custom electric guitar. Like mentioned above, you can shop for NAMM custom shop models or showcase models made by guitar companies for industry events . You will get a custom shop quality instrument with a much lower price tag, although, you won’t be able to spec it out as you would if you were to order it straigt from the factory.
This is also the case with some “Custom Shop” lines and custom electric guitar. Gibson offers some “Custom Shop” models that are stocked in retail stores that offer high quality, as well, Jackson, which is now owned by FMIC (Fender Musical Instrument Corporation) offers a USA series model. These “Made in USA” Jacksons are a bit cheaper than their custom shop counter parts, and also use higer quality components, and are of much greater quality than their instruments made in Korea, or even Japan. Jackson however, also offers a Professional Series, which is just a step down from their “Made in USA” series guitars, and of better quality than their Standard Japanese made guitars.
There are many things to take into consideration when purchasing an electric guitar, especially a custom electric guitar. BEWARE of cheap or standard series guitars labeled “custom electric guitar” which are in fact nothing more than a marketing ploy by some companies. You don’t have to worry about this as much with the major label guitar or more reputable guitar companies;
